The Liberty Rising Festival is the next step in the evolution of the Liberty Fest, a collaborative project between electricmeg.com and havenforhumanity.org held in July 2017 at the White Sulpher Springs Firemans Park (seeded with a Sullivan Arts & Heritage Grant).

The event featured lectures by Dick Riseling (Steps to a Sustainable Future), David N. McCarthy (The Economics of Compassion), Tad Montgomery (Bioregionalism) and Meg Montgomery (The Consciousness of Water).

Mark Switko opened the festival with a gong bath, Suitcase DJ set up under a tree for all-day audience participation, and we had workshops by Pauline Quackenbush and Patti Berlin on Essential Oils, Leeanne Maniace gave a Yoga workshop and we ran out of time before we could get workshops from Sam Kovalyev on plant nutrition, and Eugene Thallman on microgreens. Greg Castro was our phenomenal sound man.

Our headliner was Kaila Mullady, 3x Beatbox/Beatrhyme World Champion.

This year, the festival has aligned with the transformation of Liberty and moved into town to allow for access by the greater community, and has become a free festival centered on promoting volunteerism and building community.
